Eyebrow and Eyelash Transplantation
Eyelash transplantation is a microsurgical procedure applied under local anesthesia. The hair follicles taken from the nape region using the FUE technique are transferred to the eyelash. This procedure can be performed by taking hair follicles from different parts of the body, but the research results have shown that the hair follicles extracted from the nape region provide the most ideal results. Eyelash transplantation takes about 2 hours. After the treatment, people can continue their work and social life on the same day.
Eyebrow and eyelash transplantation can be applied to any individual (men or women) suffering from eyebrow and eyelash loss. Transplantation treatment can be applied not only to the people suffering from eyebrow and eyelash loss, but also to those having sparse eyebrows and eyelashes.
After the treatment, the exact results are obtained within 4 to 6 months. The transplanted eyebrows can be cut occasionally. As a result of this process, the eyebrows and eyelashes get their natural lifecycle lasting for a lifetime. A special eyelash care should be done every 15 days or once a month.
There is a process called as “shock loss” after eyebrow transplantation. The patient experiences eyebrow shedding in the first 2 weeks. There may be partial or complete shedding, but some patient may never experience shock loss. Shed eyebrows appear again in a period of 3 to 8 months. It takes about a year for the eyebrows to find their natural course. After the transplantation process, there is a period of change in the first 15 days to make changes in sparse or over-transplanted areas. If this period is skipped, one year is required to make changes.
